IMG_65130392346992I love my mommas sweet potato pie. It smells and taste so good that I am often tempted to eat the whole thing at once! Have you ever tried to eat a whole pie at one time? It’s kind of hard to do and if you do, usually it has bad results later.

That’s the same way with starting a business.  Trying to do everything at the same time to create the perfect business is like trying to “Eat the whole pie”. Instead, try just building your business one “slice at a time”! Here is a slow and steady approach to building your business.

First,  create a VISION for your business.  What will it look like when you finish? This can be done by creating a “Vision board” manually on cardboard or online with the many tools on the internet. Watch my video “How to Create Unstoppable Vision Boards! ” on my website at

Secondly, have a plan for your business. Decide what’s important to take care of now and then schedule other things for later. you can make a daily plan, a weekly plan, and even a yearly plan. That way you will always wake up each morning knowing what you need to do to take your business to the next level!

Thirdly, now that you have set up a plan you need to prioritize the importance of everything on that plan. Determine those goals that you want to achieve in the short term as well as those goals that you planned out for the next two to five years. It is important to have short and long term goals because they will guide the way you act in your day-to-day business. Short term and long term goals allow you to focus on the task at hand.

Finally, learn to be patient with your business. Things will happen in your business when they are supposed to happen; no sooner, no later.  trying to force things to happen in your business too soon will only lead to disaster!  remember, it is better to have slow and steady progress than to have no progress at all!

in closing, resist the temptation to eat the whole pie at one time! Do the things you need to do in a systematic way in your business will be Unstoppable!
